I previously posted my release review for book 6 in the Kincaid Brother series. Here are my thoughts on the first five books in this series.
Note: I received ARC copies for books 1-6 of this series but I already owned a copy of book 1.
Brooks
Overhearing my cousin’s best friend confessing that she’s never been satisfied wasn’t my fault… but offering to help her change that definitely was. Her brother is a friend of mine, and while this has a bad idea written all over it, it doesn’t stop us from becoming friends… with benefits.
Palmer is gorgeous, off-limits, and stubborn as hell. For the first time, I’m the one left wanting more.
I’m tired of watching her walk away. I’m ready for her to stay.
Palmer
I never dreamed having my crush overhear my most embarrassing confession would land me in his bed… or that I would want to stay there.
But our secret relationship has rules. No strings. No expectations. No feelings. What’s that saying about rules? Oh yeah, they’re meant to be broken.
But when it comes to Brooks, I’m afraid if I’m not the one to walk away, it won’t be just the rules broken.
This is a brilliant start to what promises to be a fantastic new series! The blurb captured my attention straight away and once I opened this book up I was a goner.
Stay Over has:
- A compelling premise that denotes an intriguing story.
- A secret friends-with-benefits situation.
- A writing style that I really connected with.
- Distinct and multi-dimensional characters that steal the show.
- A MMC that is absolute book boyfriend material. Swoon-fest!
- Excellent character development with plenty of depth.
- A FMC that has been crushing on the MMC for years. The tension, people!
- A riveting plot that makes the reader want more.
- Wonderful family and friendship dynamics.
- Searing chemistry, passion, and an underlying heartfelt connection.
- Stellar storytelling that impressed me and turned me into a total fangirl.
- Small-town vibes!
Overall, this was a fun and swoony romance that I couldn't put down! This book has well-developed characters and a plot that keeps your interest from start to finish. The Kincaid Brothers series is shaping up to be an awesome series that I am very much looking forward to!
Declan
My whole world has revolved around caring for my baby girl. I never wanted to let anyone into my life—into our life until Kennedy came to town and threw a wrench into my single-dad routine.
She’s the first woman to make me feel something… anything, in a long time. If only she would let me in.
Kennedy is kind, beautiful, and everything I never knew that I wanted. She looks at me as if I'm her entire world, and her bond with my daughter is something to see. But there’s a problem: she's leaving in a few weeks, and I need to find a way to ask her to stay.
Kennedy
My trip to Willow River came at the perfect time to escape. Taking care of my grandmother should be my whole focus. What I shouldn’t be doing is falling for a drop-dead-gorgeous single dad. But my meddling grandmother has other ideas.
Declan is impossible to resist. Everything with him is easy and feels right. We feel right. But the timing is all wrong— no matter how I wish I could change things.
He’s a forever kind of guy, but this isn’t my home, and he doesn’t know what he’s asking when two words change everything… “stay forever.”

The Kincaid Brothers series gets even better with this second installment. I am here for the single dad trope all day long every day so I knew this book was going to delight me.
Stay Forever has:
- A riveting plot full of all the feels to keep you hooked.
- Masterful writing that proves that this author knows her craft.
- A single dad trope! (Yes, please!)
- A feisty FMC with a lot of changes going on in her life.
- Animated characters that were distinct and relatable.
- An author voice that I am so enamored with.
- A sassy little girl who will capture your heart!
- A determined MMC that will not give up on love.
- Secondary characters that play huge roles in the story and add a lot of depth.
- Love interests with a sizzling connection.
- Incredible family dynamics and friendships. Found family for the win!
- A grandmother who will crack you up!
Overall, this was a dazzling, heartwarming story that was so satisfying in the end. I really grew attached to these characters and appreciated the compelling plot. I'm so excited for the next book in this series!
Sterling
It’s always been her, and I just never realized. Now that I’m looking at her that way, I can’t unsee it… and I don’t want to. Alyssa has been my best friend since kindergarten, and these intense new feelings could cost me our friendship.
She’s the one I share everything with, good or bad. It makes sense to share my life with her. But I can’t risk losing the only woman I’ve ever loved, which will happen if she doesn’t feel the same.
Alyssa is loyal and kind and takes my breath away. I just wish it hadn’t taken me so long to figure out what’s been right in front of me.
Alyssa
Falling for my best friend is easy, but keeping it to myself while figuring out what to do about it is the hard part. Because in a small town, everyone knows everyone… and their business.
Sterling is the perfect guy—handsome, with a heart of gold and a protective streak. I know he’ll do anything for me… except maybe admit he feels the same way I do.
So, I’m stuck in limbo and am in love with my best friend. Just when I work up the nerve to finally tell him how I feel, everything changes with a confession and two words: stay tonight.

Holy moly, Kaylee Ryan knows how to work tropes to great advantage. The friends-to-lovers trope is not one of my top-tier favorite tropes but it is one that I enjoy. I enjoy them more when there are certain aspects surrounding the trope in the story. In this book, the author impressed me and made me fall back in love with this trope.
Stay Tonight has:
- A slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance that draws out the tension!
- Two friends that are in a relationship but just don't know it yet. <3
- Talented storytelling that makes the reader take notice.
- Characters that jump off the page.
- A relatable FMC that you just wish you could be friends with.
- Sizzling chemistry with a genuine connection.
- I very compelling plot that kept me engaged and totally immersed with this couple.
- A "boy next door" and "Captain America-esque" MMC that will win your heart.
- Relationship Goals for days!
- A writing voice that I feel an acute connection with.
- Supporting characters that flesh the story out and add depth.
- A satisfying HEA that will put a smile on your face and a cuddle in your heart.
Overall, this was such a heart-melting story that was so fun and full of good feels. I love all the characters in this series and I am so thrilled for more stories!
Rushton
From the moment I see her, I’m hooked. There’s just something about Crosby that has me eager to know her. One thing’s for sure, I can’t stay away from the new kindergarten teacher with the kind smile and secrets in her brown eyes.
There’s no hiding in a small town, and she’s suddenly everywhere. My family loves her, my niece won’t stop talking about her, and I…well, I just want to make her mine.
Crosby is everything I didn’t know I was looking for, but the wall she keeps up makes it impossible to love her the way I want to. I have to figure out how to tear it down, and fast— because she’s not so sure she’s sticking around, and I’m not prepared to let her walk away from Willow River… or me.
Crosby
Another new town, another new school. But this time I’m not the struggling new kid; I’m the teacher. It’s hard to let go of my past, when it refuses to let go of me. I live in a constant state of unease, never knowing what the future holds. Especially when it comes to love.
Rushton isn’t like other guys. He’s open and honest. What you see is what you get. He’s made his intentions very clear. But I’m afraid getting involved only spells heartbreak for both of us. If growing up in foster care taught me anything, it’s not to get too close and definitely don’t get comfortable.
So, I learned to be good at goodbye. But for the first time in my life, I’ve found a place I want to put down roots. Rushton, his family, Willow River, my students—they all make me wish for once that I could stay. That we could… stay together.

What happens when your wandering heart is captured by your friend with benefits?
Scarlett
Archer Kincaid is supposed to be all the fun and none of the strings, but the longer I stay in Willow River, the more I feel roots pulling me to settle down.
I plan to complete a one-year photography contract with Captured Moments, then move on to travel the world. Chasing my dreams, taking photos, and living life on my terms—shot by shot.
But I’ve been on my own since losing my adopted parents, and home isn’t about a place as much as it is a feeling. And Archer’s starting to feel like home, but loving him means trading one dream for another.
Archer
Scarlett Hatfield is the kind of girl who can’t be tamed. Her adventurous spirit is contagious, but a blue-collar man like me doesn’t chase dreams. I build them from the ground up. And my home is in Willow River.
I can see myself building a life with the gorgeous redhead who’s turning my world upside down, but that means clipping her wings. And I could never do that, not when she’s meant for more than my small-town life.
Even if it means destroying my heart, when the time comes, I’ll have to say goodbye and let her stay wild.
