Saturday Sing-Along: The Steel & Stone Series Playlist Part 1

Saturday Sing-Along is a meme that I created after realizing that I have way too many playlists on Spotify dedicated to my favorite book series. I am constantly making playlists to go along with my favorite books so I thought that I would share those songs with others. Hopefully, others would love to join in and we can share and discuss the songs that fit perfectly with our fandoms and the moods that the music creates for them. 

RULES

1. Pick 3 - 5 songs that remind you of a book or series. (Or pick an entire playlist if your heart desires!)

2. The songs do not have to be about the same book or series. Mix things up if you wish.

3. Post the title and artist of the song and then the book or series that it reminds you of. As a bonus, you can tell us what character or couple the song reminds you of and why.

I just reread the Steel & Stone series by Annette Marie for the third time. Since the series is on my mind at the moment, it felt like the perfect time to share some of my playlist for this series.

THE STEEL & STONE SERIES PLAYLIST PART 1

1. Never Surrender by Liv Ash
This song feels like my theme song for the series as a whole.

2. The Other Side by Ruelle This song reminds me of the ending of book three and the start of book four. That's all I'm going to say because spoilers.

3. My Demons by Starset This song reminds of Piper when she is succumbing to the Sahar and shading. It also reminds me of Ash and his state of mind after escaping Asphodel.

4. Incredible by SECRETS This song reminds me of how Piper makes Ash feel. How she awakens something good in him. Even Lyre comments to Seiya about how Piper is good for Ash.

I adore The Messenger Chronicles series by Pippa DaCosta. The final book comes out this year and I am so stoked for it!

This song reminds me of Kesh and Oberon and at times Kesh and Eledan. For Oberon, how Kesh was conditioned to love Faerie and Oberon even through the horrible things that she was put through and made to do. For Eledan, I am reminded of their hate/love relationship from the beginning.

2. Astronomical by Svrcina This song reminds me of Kesh and her pull towards Kellee and Talen. Especially Talen. There is also a double entendre or double meaning present in just the title of the song that I won't go into because, spoilers.

Since I just finished my reread of the Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo, I decided to share part of my playlist for this series. 

THE SHADOW AND BONE SERIES PLAYLIST PART 1

This song reminds me of Alina. How when she first came to the Little Palace and was placed on a pedestal. Like she was already the Queen to The Darkling's King.

3. Crown by Halflives This song reminds me of Alina during the middle of the series. How she was broken down by The Darkling and determined to put her big girl panties on and defeat him.

4. When The Darkness Comes by Colbie Caillat This song reminds me of Alina and Mal, but also Alina and The Darkling. For Mal, this some reminds me of when he was being a douche in the middle of the series and fighting and drinking his pain away. For The Darkling, it is more of a general feeling from the first book when Alina first comes to the Little Palace. The lyrics also kind of have a double entendre or double meaning since they are talking about the sun, hence Alina, and darkness, hence The Darkling.

4. Deep End by Ruelle This song reminds me of Jude. In The Cruel Prince trying to deal with Cardan and his cruel friends and managing Dain and everything else. In The Wicked King, handling Cardan and all the pressures on her shoulders.

5. FEEL NOTHING by The Plot In You This song reminds me of Jude's feelings towards Madoc and Taryn at the end of The Wicked King.
