Amazon/Goodreads Review Tour: To Be Your Girl (To Be Yours #1) by Rae Kennedy

Title: To Be Your Girl
Series: To Be Yours #1
Author: Rae Kennedy
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 22, 2019

Staying away from Cade Renner is easier said than done—because he’s my brother’s best friend and my new roommate.

I know he’s trouble when I meet him—half naked, covered in tattoos, and kicking an anonymous girl out of his bed.

I’m not supposed to become his friend, and I definitely shouldn’t be thinking about him at night.

Especially after I meet Adam—he is the perfect gentleman and he wants to be my boyfriend. To him, I am a sweet, innocent girl not to be defiled.

But I’m done being innocent.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

This book was splendidly addicting! It is a book that will grab your attention and not let you go. The author has an enjoyable writing style. Very fluid and easy to read but never bland or boring.

The pacing of the story is perfect. Everything felt so realistic, which I loved. Haley is in college and the reader really feels like they are right there with her. There is plenty of drama to keep things interesting and entertaining.

The characters were brilliant! I adored them. I really appreciated how relatable and realistic the characters were. The reader has no problem connecting with them and living through them through the pages. There was great character growth for Cade, but I felt that Haley's character arc was a little flat.

I loved the slow-burn romance that starts off with Haley and Cade becoming friends. They spend a lot of time together after she moves in and get to know each other. It is such a great precursor for when their feelings start to grow. Cade's jealousy was amusing. There are plenty of steamy moments and the two of them really fit well together.

Overall, this is a book that I absolutely could not put down. This book has characters that the reader immediately falls in love with. There is humor, steam, raw emotions, I mean this book has it all. I am unbelievably eager for the next book in this series! This is a new-to-me author that I am putting on my watch list.

Rae enjoys writing romances that are sweet AND smutty with smart heroines, swoony heroes, and a good dose of humor. She has degrees in Architecture and Interior Design but also loves to draw, paint, bake, and, of course, write. A hopeless romantic, she's been married to her high school sweetheart for ten years, together they have three children and live in the Pacific Northwest.
