If you like your books emotionally charged then pull up a chair because this one is for you. This is a highly emotional story that has its raw and gritty moments.
As far as the plot goes, I liked it. There is heaps of drama in this book. So much is going on. The drama in the story kept me compelled to keep turning the pages. I was totally invested in the story. I liked all the surprised along the way too. This book does contain many triggering things so this could potentially be a bumpy read for some.
The characters are great. Kat is a naive girl that struggles through some life-changing things. I liked how the author showcased her growth throughout the story. James was such a darling. A true swoon-worthy hero that will melt your heart.
I loved how the romance was a slow-burn that felt very natural.
Overall, this is a book that will have you feeling a full gamut of emotions. Start to finish, you will be in for quite a ride. Congrats to the author on such a wonderful debut!
