Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?

MY REVIEW
DISCLAIMER: This review MAY contain spoilers. My god, the book hangover that I am going to have when I finish this series will be of epic proportions. I might not recover. This series is a complete godsend.
There are so many things to love about this series, but one of the things that I love most is that I never know what to expect. I am always surprised by the way the plot twists and turns like a country backroad. Things happen that I never see coming. It's truly an art to map out a book so deviously. I also loved the dual point of views that we got in this book! Seeing things from Daemon's perspective was everything!
The main characters have come so far and matured so much since the first book in the series. They have experienced so much loss and heartache and instead of breaking them down it has made them and their love stronger. You can feel the difference in them and it is evident in their actions as well. The cast of characters is awesome. I love the way that they all interact and give me the feels. Their chemistry is magnetic. It is easy to become completely invested in these characters. Obsessed is more like it. I love the addition of Archer. I adore him. And I loved seeing more of Luc in this.
The romance in this series has been something truly magnificent to experience with the main characters. Daemon is just...well...there are hardly words to describe Daemon Black. It is like he was molded by the gods. It is impossible not to love everything about him. His playful and adorably arrogant personality, the way he goes out of his way to do little things for Katy to show that he loves her, he is fiercely protective and loyal to Katy, he is funny, his smirk could melt the polar ice caps, he is constantly showing Katy small physical affections, he notices the little quirky things about Katy and loves her for them, and not to mention he is basically a human Adonis. Basically, he's your new book boyfriend. And Katy loves Daemon just as fiercely as he loves her. I loved the hate-to-love aspect at the beginning of the series, but in this book, we see how deep their love for one another truly is. It is so beautifully written.
I loved the additional world-building in this. We finally get to see more of Daedalus and how they run things. We get into their heads a bit and learn some of their creepy secrets. Everything that we experience and learn when Katy and Daemon are with Daedalus adds so much to this world.
Overall, this book is truly amazing. It has plenty of action, intrigue, an intense romance, a plot that will run circles around you and then shock you, and characters that you will want to open your heart to. If you enjoyed the first three books in this series then you'll love this one. If you haven't read them yet then what are you waiting for? Scoot!
Check out my reviews for the other books in this series!
