This book has totally gutted me. This is such an intense, gritty, and raw book full of so many emotions. This story will hold you hostage from the first page. You won't be able to put it down.

I loved the plot of this book. It is so heartbreaking yet so satisfying at the same time. The story is told in a nonlinear narrative with before and after scenes so that the reader can really identify with the characters and what they are going through. I really like that the story was told this way.

The writing is phenomenal. The reader feels everything that Alana is feeling as the story progresses. It's intense.

I really love the mental health representation in this as Alana and Mikah are going through their grief after the trauma they experienced. Anxiety and PTSD are described so well.

The characters in this book really jump off the page. They are written so beautifully that they come to life effortlessly. Alana was a character that was so easy to relate to, which surprised me since she is really not much like myself. I did identify with some of her personality after the tragic bits though. Her character is so genuine and I really loved getting to know her. Her character growth in the story is outstanding. Dakota and Mikah were both characters so easy to love.

The romance in this story is a little different because we get to see Alana's relationship with Dakota and her relationship with Mikah. I don't want to give too much away, but the beauty of this story is seeing the relationships unfold. There is love, incredible chemistry, and acceptance.

Overall, this is a captivating story about loss and healing that will blow you away! I am so very glad that I gave this book a chance. I haven't read any books by this author before, but I will certainly be reading more of them. Kudos to the author for writing such an emotionally charged story that will break your heart and warm it at the same time. This isn't one that you want to miss out on! This book will wreck you. Prepare yourself.
