Jasmine
I can't believe it's already my senior year of college.
And I find myself roommate-less.
That is until I strike a deal with the devil.
Elio Mazzo. Retired NHL legend and my father's friend.
Which makes him completely off-limits.
We can never cross that line, no matter how much we want to.
But you know what they say, you always want the things you can't have.

Elio
I never pictured returning to RLU to complete my senior year of college, but here I am.
After an injury that left me unable to continue playing in the NHL, I decided to return to school to figure out what's next for me.
Not only am I a student again- I'm also the new assistant hockey coach to my mentor.
All while I'm secretly living with his daughter.
Inviting her to live with me has resulted in my own personal hell.
She's tempting and I can't have her.
But when tensions run high, I find myself not caring about the consequences.
I've always gotten whatever I wanted, and I don't plan on changing that now.

Oh my goodness, this book absolutely captured my heart! College sports romance books are my kryptonite but add in the forbidden trope to that and I was a goner for this book.

Carlie Jean had a lovely writing style that I meshed with instantly. The book is easy to read but not simple by any means. The story's plot is well-developed and kept me wanting more.

These characters really grab ahold of you from the get-go. Elio and Jasmine are so relatable and distinct. I really felt for Jasmine and her situation with her parents. I love how the author made the characters stand out. The character development was great. It was so nice to see Jasmine blossom (no pun intended) during the story and see Elio figure things out.

I was such a fan of how genuine the romance was in this book. Jasmine and Elio gradually fall in love while getting to know each other through close proximity and it just developed so naturally. I also love a nice age-gap romance and while this one wasn't extreme, it was very satisfying. It added a bit of tension to the story. Elio was a boy obsessed and I loved how he treated Jasmine.

Overall, I was greatly impressed with this addictive college sports romance. If you are a fan of characters that are memorable and relatable then you need to pick this one up! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!

Hi! My name is Carlie Jean, a girl who loves to write new adult romances featuring protective males and strong heroines with a side of spice, tension, laughter and a hefty dose of scenes that give readers butterflies.

When I'm not teaching little ones, you can find me cozied up at home, either writing or reading. And when I'm not being a couch potato, I enjoy walking my dog, playing volleyball and baseball, and traveling.
