The premise for this book was unique and unlike anything that I have read before and I loved that.

Tijan has a very relatable writing style that I just mesh with. I love how easy it is to connect with her stories. The plot of this book was in a league of its own and was executed well. I was drawn into the story effortlessly. The story was compelling and entertaining.

These characters were so vibrant and complex. They were really fleshed out well and had so much depth. The character development was really incredible. Both main characters have intense pasts and some baggage to work through. Tijan did a great job of highlighting the emotions of the characters at the right time. The side characters were great and we also get to see some characters from some of her other books.

There was an immediate attraction between Brett and Billie from the moment they met. The romance is kind of a slow burn. Their connection grew while they got to know each other. It was clear to see that they completed each other.

Overall, this was a brilliant story with a unique premise that really delivered. Tijan is a fantastic storyteller. These characters are so memorable and the story is one that I won't soon forget either. I can't wait for the next release from this author! She is one of those author unicorns that can write anything and make it awesome.
