Release Blitz & Review: Fake in Love (Heatstroke Hearts #2) by Bailey Hart

Fake in Love by Bailey Hart is now live!

Title: Fake in Love
Series: Heatstroke Hearts #2
Author: Bailey Hart
Release Date:
February 22, 2024

I don't want to share my enemy's bed or wear his wedding ring.
But I'll do it if it means protecting my father's diner... FML.

Jesse Taylor has found a million ways to make my life hell.
He arrests me, pats me down, and impounds my car.
He shows up at my diner and grills me in front of my customers.
He mocks me with his special nickname for me, "Angel".
The insufferable deputy takes pleasure in seeing me squirm, and I despise him for it.
So when Jesse proposes a marriage of convenience, I flip him off.
He's the devil in uniform, and I will not be swayed.
Until my diner is threatened. And I realize taking the deal is my only way out.
I need protection. He needs to clean up his image.
The rules are simple.
One. We share his bed.
Two. He calls me "my wife."
Three. We don't fall in love.
Even when his gaze softens along with his touches.
Or when he puts it all on the line to give me what I've always wanted.
I guess rules are made to be broken.
I just hope Jesse doesn't break what's left of my heart.

Disclaimer: I received this book at no cost from the publisher/author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own.

I was totally floored by this adorable love story! The fake relationship and enemies-to-lovers tropes are some of my favorites and they really held up nicely in this story.

Bailey Hart has a wonderful writing style that really played to my emotions. Her writing was fluid and the plot kept me entertained.

Marci and Jesse were such relatable characters that I felt an instant kinship with them.

The banter between Marci and Jesse was great. The enemies-to-lovers trope was so amusing in this book because the characters really played off of each other well. I loved that Jesse was the one who fell first and how he supported Marci throughout the story.

Overall, this was a marriage-of-convenience story that really delivered. If you are a fan of small-town romance with a dash of suspense, this book is for you. The characters are relatable and the storytelling is fantastic and immersive. I'll be watching for more from this author and can't wait for the next book in this series!

Bailey Hart writes small town swoonworthy romance that leaves readers with all the tingly feels. She loves wearing her nails long, eating Mexican food, and dancing like nobody's watching. When she's not writing, she's at dance class, spending time with her son and husband, or daydreaming about her next story idea--spicy scenes included. She lives in Cape Town, South Africa, and desperately wants a cat in the near future.
