I enjoyed this story immensely. This author has been on my radar for a long while, both for contemporary and fantasy books, but this book was my introduction to her books. I am kicking myself now for not picking up one sooner because this book truly captivated me.

Holly Renee has a writing style that jumps out at you and catches your attention. I loved the relatable narrative and the exceptionally crafted plot. The story pulls the reader in and grabs hold tightly. Renee has a talent for creating detailed world-building that is atmospheric but not overwhelming.

I was obsessed with these characters. They really spoke to me and I connected with them easily. Their personalities were vibrant and distinct. I loved all the character dynamics and the friendships. The character development was great.

The romance was so addicting. It was a slow burn that really dug in deep. The chemistry between these two was scorching. The angst and banter had me climbing the walls.

Overall, this was an engaging forbidden romance with enemies-to-lovers vibes that delivered in every way. There is so much to love about this book. If you love unforgettable characters, a stimulating plot, and fantastic writing, this series should be at the top of your TBR. I am so stoked for the second book and I am also excited to pick up more from this author!
