Pro football might see me as their favorite underdog, but Madison Westfield would rather see me six feet under.

My ex-best friend’s little sister has every reason to hate me.

I took her boyfriend’s spot on this team, her brother might lose his too, and our short-lived engagement years ago is part of the reason our families are locked in a grudge match that has the whole league on edge.

Ruining me would fix most of her problems, but she's stuck trying to work a PR miracle with my career instead.
Making my way through her build-a-better-image checklist is the kind of torture I'll gladly sign up for, especially if I get to help her prove everyone wrong.

But it means we're spending a lot of time alone together, and when it comes to Madison, I'll take any chance she gives me.

Even if it means there's hell to pay—on and off the field.

Disclaimer: I received this book at no cost from the publisher/author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own.

This book, ya'll, is a marvel! I was completely blown away by the awesome of this book.

Maggie Rawdon has a very appealing writing style. It is so relatable and draws the reader in. I felt such a kinship with the author's voice. I was obsessed with the story. The plot kept my interest and kept me wanting more. The execution of the story was intense and so satisfying.

These characters felt so raw and genuine. I loved their distinct personalities and how easily I connected with them. It was easy to get pulled into their orbit and root for them. I adored all of the secondary characters and how they added something special to the story.

Quentin and Madison had intense chemistry that was sizzling. Their past together made their relationship and bond feel so genuine. Quentin was so over the moon for Madison. I loved the evolution of their second-chance romance.

Overall, this was a second-chance sports romance that really solidified my love for this trope. A lot of books with the second-chance trope are just okay for me but when executed well, like this book, it not only shows off the trope to great advantage but it displays the skill of the author. Ultimately, this book greatly impressed me with the memorable characters and the compelling plot. I am looking forward to reading more from this author!

Maggie loves books, travel and wandering through museums. She lives in the Midwest where you can find her writing on her laptop with her two pups at her side, in between binge watching epic historical and fantasy dramas and cheering for her favorite American (and European) football teams on the weekends. She loves writing dirty athletes and smart women and has a soft spot for writing characters who banter instead of flirt.
