This was such a beautiful story that I couldn't pull myself away from.

I was blown away by how much I loved this story. Teacher/student or coach/student stories are hit or miss with me but Devney Perry has magnetic storytelling that is very consuming. Her author voice was very relatable and her writing very skilled. The plot was quite compelling and I fell hopelessly into the story.

These characters are ones that you can't help but love straight away. Each character was vibrant and distinct. I connected with the characters easily which made it easy to root for them. I adored all of the secondary characters and how they added depth to the story.

The romance in this book takes the route of a secret romance. Toren and Jennsyn keep their relationship under wraps due to its forbidden nature. The coach/teacher aspect was very riveting. The fall for this couple was such a journey. The reader could feel the connection between these two. The tension was mouth-watering.

Overall, this was an angsty age-gap sports romance with all the small-town vibes and a satisfying story. If you enjoy powerful storytelling, memorable characters, and an un-put-down-able plot then this book should be next on your TBR. Devney Perry has been on my radar for a long time and after being introduced to her books by reading this book I am hooked! I definitely plan to finish this series and will be looking forward to any new releases from this author!
