I haven't read any of Michelle Dare's previous books in this book series or in this world, but I still very much enjoyed this book. I honestly wish that I had read the previous books just so I would have understood certain references and characters. While I didn't read anything else in the series, I was still able to follow along with this standalone story in this world. 

First of all, the world-building is fantastic. It is so atmospheric and detailed. I found myself immersed in the pages while discovering this incredible world. 

I enjoyed the plot of the story. There is plenty of mystery with Kylest's sister being missing. There is plenty of romance in the way that Kylest and Raven gravitate towards each other. The story is very compelling. You won't want to put it down once you have started it. And this is a fast-paced and fairly quick read so it can easily be read in one sitting. 

The characters are so easy to fall in love with. Kylest and Raven have incredible chemistry and I loved their journey with each other. 

Overall, this is a paranormal story that you won't want to miss out on! The author has a definite talent for creating paranormals worlds. After reading this, I am definitely going to go back and read the other books in this world. I am very intrigued to know more. Michelle Dare has a gorgeous writing style and I am excited to add more of her books to my shelf!
