Series: Frat House Confessions #2
Author: Bethany Lopez
Genre: Contemporary, Romance
Release Date: September 30, 2019

She wants more than just his forgiveness…

Trixie’s not ashamed of the exposé she wrote for the college newspaper last year. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes to get the story, even if it meant lying to a friend to get the inside scoop.

Still, every time she sees Wes, she regrets the loss of someone she really enjoyed spending time with. Not one for labels, or someone who puts limitations on attraction, Trixie can’t deny the pull she feels toward Wes when they cross paths again.
He's willing to do whatever it takes to change her perception of him...

Wes has always been the odd man out. Different than his brothers, he was always more comfortable playing video games or enjoying solitary moments in the pool.

Although he never expected someone as sexy as Trixie to fall for an inexperienced guy like him, he also never expected her betrayal. Now that he has a second chance, can he get her to see him as more than the nice guy she duped?

A year has passed, but anger and regret still linger. Can Wes and Trixie agree to put the past behind them and move forward, or will late night confessions prove to be more than they can forgive and forget?

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

I read the first book in this series, Frat House Confessions: Ridge, earlier in the year and totally fell in love with the story so I knew that this was a series that I was going to go gaga over. I couldn't wait for the second book to come out.

This book didn't wow me as much as the first book. My review is going to sound really critical, but I promise that this is a book that I enjoyed. I merely think that it has some areas for improvement.

Let's start out with my all-time favorite thing about the book: the characters. I thought that the characters were more fleshed out in the first book, but the way that Lopez writes the relationships between her characters is an all-time favorite for me. She writes the relationships so seamlessly. The reader wants to crawl into the book and sink into these characters' lives. I felt that the character development for Wes was adequate. We did learn more about him in the previous book so there was something to build off of, but I felt that Trixie's character development was minuscule. We get a little bit of backstory to her, but there could have been more. I didn't feel as connected to her as I did to Karrie in the first book.

The plot of the story was good but felt a little lacking in areas. If I compared the book to a pot roast then this book would have the meat of the story down but lacks the potatoes and veggies that round it out. If that makes sense? The foundation is definitely there and it definitely works, but it felt like the bare bones of a story. For instance, the conflicts in the story could have been heightened. They felt like they were rectified too quickly and without much effort. Other than that I felt that more details and scenes could have made the story better. So basically, the story is good it just needs to be fattened up a bit.

I felt that Trixie and Wes were really perfect for each other. I would have liked for them to ease into their relationship a little slower though. It felt too fast. The entire pacing of the story felt a little too fast for my liking, to be honest. I liked how their personalities played off the other though. I actually loved their personalities separately and thought that their pairing was perfect.

Overall, this was a great story that I enjoyed very much but I thought that there could have been more to it. Bethany Lopez has a talent with writing characters that you want to insert into your own life so I will definitely be continuing this series and anything else that she writes. I am definitely a fan of her storytelling and Brody's story, book three in this series, cannot come fast enough for me!
