I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own. This was such an incredible story! This book starts right in the thick of things, right in the feels and it doesn't let up. I didn't know what to expect going into this one since I haven't previously read this author but I was ultimately overjoyed with the author's writing style. The premise of the story was great and the execution of the plot was perfect. I also found the world-building to be very atmospheric. I felt so connected to this small town. The main characters in this story have been through so much and you can feel the emotions flying. Piper and Adam were so vibrant and memorable. They were relatable and I connected with them effortlessly. This book has a fantastic cast of secondary characters, some of whom have their own stories in this series. I loved the emphasis on family and friendship, especially the found family aspect in the story. The romance in this book has sort of a bittersweet feel to it because of all the time that goes by before Adam and Piper get their HEA. It is also very heartwarming when everything is said and done. Their journey to their HEA wasn't an easy one but it was worth it in the end. The two of them had undeniable chemistry that jumped off the page. Their close friendship was evident and made their romance much more intense. It was clear that they belonged together and that Adam was already part of Piper and Ryan's family. Overall, this is an emotional and heartwarming story with a HEA that is so satisfying. If you enjoy love stories with plenty of feels, a little suspense, and unforgettable characters then you need this book on your TBR ASAP. This is my first time trying a book by this author and it will not be my last. I am super excited to read the rest of the books in this series and move on to Tia Louise's backlist!
