The Hating Season (Seasons #2)
by K.A. Linde
Release Date: April 28, 2020
I’m hired to clean up his badboy image, which would’ve been easy if my life wasn’t falling apart.
First, I catch my movie star husband having an affair with his co-star. Then when I return to work, my job is at stake, because Court has gotten himself into trouble...again.
Instead of getting him back in line, I find myself falling for his charm. And into his bed. And against the wall. And, and, and…
Except Kensington charm shouldn’t work on me. Not when I’ve sworn to never ever sleep with a client.
I had good intentions.
I really did.
But we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

This was such an entertaining enemies-to-lovers story with a flair of forbidden romance. Get ready for an angst-ridden story because this couple doles it out in spades.
I was really impressed with the storytelling. The writing style was so smooth and effortless. It was a truly beautiful narrative that really pulled me into the story. The plot of the story was riveting. I was so engrossed by the story and I couldn't put it down.
I liked the characters a lot. Both main characters, English and Court, had such endearing qualities that it would be hard not to like them. They both had such distinct personalities and were very realistic and relatable. They both had a lot of depth and character growth. I also really loved the cast of secondary characters. I haven't read any other books from this author yet but I definitely will. She writes the secondary characters into the story is such a way that the reader is itching to know more about them and experience their stories as well. I loved the build-up concerning the two main characters slated for the next book in this series as well as the other couples that already have their own stories. I also really loved the friendships in the story and the family representation. And while it doesn't really matter in the slightest since it doesn't impact the story, I have to add that I really disliked how the female lead character went by her last name. It was annoying.
I felt like the romance came on a little too strong a little too early in the story. I definitely liked them as a couple but I just didn't feel their romance in my bones. It felt like something was missing. There were also some things about the romance that I didn't find very convincing. Like the fact that English falls for Court so quickly after finding out that her husband of five years cheated on her. Falling out of love with her husband and falling in love with Court felt like it was all at the drop of a hat. It just didn't feel realistic to me.
Overall, this was an exciting and angsty story that also packed a lot of emotions. I loved the drama, the incredible cast of characters, and the rollercoaster ride of a plot. I can't wait for the next book in this series and I am excited to go back and read some of Linde's backlist titles.
