Be still my heart. This book totally got under my skin. I was captivated by this story from the very start.

I am such a fan of L.A. Cotton and one of the things that I love most about her books is her phenomenal writing style. She has such a magical way of bringing the reader into the story. Her storytelling is atmospheric and so full of feeling. I love how smooth and inviting the prose is. The plot of the story was addicting. I couldn't get enough. I really loved the premise of the story and where the author it taking it.

I really loved the characters. Especially Eva. She is overcoming some deep-seated issues and I really connected with her character. Rafe was a little more mysterious but what I saw of him I really liked. He was kind to Eva and he never pressured her for more than she was willing to give. He was hiding some deep-seated issues just like Eva. There was plenty of depth where Eva's character was concerned. I think that she had some great character growth in this book. I really liked the secondary characters in this book and I hope that there is more of them in the second book.

I liked that Eva and Rafe were able to bond in the time that they spent together. While they didn't totally open up to each other they did share something real. I liked the chemistry that they had with one another. It felt natural. With the ending in this book, I really can't wait to see where their relationship goes in the second book. There is definitely going to be a journey.

Overall, this book knocked me off my feet in all the best ways. This story and these characters are so addicting. I was so enamored with this book that I read it in a single sitting. I am so glad that the second book is already out because if it wasn't I would have been a huge mess right now. I am still kind of a mess at the moment, but at least I can get my next fix. This story is some serious kindle crack. I can't recommend this book enough!

Holy moly! I seriously didn't think that anything could surpass that first book of this series but this book stole the kingdom of my heart. It kicked down the doors, slaughtered innocent bystanders, and overthrew the monarchy. I'm a bit of a mess and I couldn't be happier about it.

L.A. Cotton is such a gifted storyteller. I don't know how she does it, but she draws me into her stories like a moth to a flame. Just a little taste of one of her stories and I am immediately addicting. Her prose flows like a dream. Her narration is always so inviting. I always know that when I read one of her books that I am going to get top-notch storytelling. The plot of this story was so much more intense than the last. I am always so impressed with the way that she plots her stories and this one was no exception. All the drama in this book hits you right in the feels.

These characters are just everything. I gave my heart away to these characters in the first book and they only ingrained themselves deeper into my heart in this one. I love how easy it is to connect with these characters. Each character, even the secondary characters, have their own distinct personality that I find so refreshing. When you are reading this book you really do fall in love with each and every one of them. I am enamored with this cast of secondary characters and I only hope that Cotton decides to give us their stories as well as Rafe and Eva's. I really loved how Eva and Rafe's characters progressed in this book.

The romance in this story is so heartwarming and tragic at the same time. It's hard to get into without going into spoiler territory, but let me just say that their love story is one that you want to root for. They are so perfect for each other and they have such a beautiful and deep connection. Tensions were high at the end of this book and I am eager to see where this romance goes.

Overall, this story gave me everything I wanted and more. I am so floored with this book and this series has fast become a favorite. This is a series that I know I will revisit in the future. The characters and the story just stay with you long after you've turned the last page. I really hope that L.A. Cotton decides to write more rockstar romance novels because this series is just amazing!

I can hardly believe that we have reached the end of Rafe and Eva's journey. Their story has been such a wild ride.

L.A. Cotton puts her all into her stories and it shows in her storytelling. Her writing style is one that I connect with so easily. Her writing invites you in and makes you feel so at ease. I am blown away by her writing skills time and time again. She plots out her stories so carefully and she always surprises me with what she comes up with. I am never disappointed. I really like where she went with this story and I love how Levi's story was set up for the next book.

These characters have come to mean so much to me. I have been completely captivated by them. They have worked their way into me so much that I can feel them in my bones. I honestly hope that L.A. Cotton decides to give each member of Black Hearts Still Beat their own story. I may have to riot if she doesn't. At least we know that Levi's story is on the way. I loved how full of emotion this book was. The characters expressed their emotions so viscerally and devastatingly. The main characters had so much depth and such incredible character growth. Some of the side characters even had some amazing growth.

The romance in this book was heart-melting. Rafe and Eva finally get to be together and they don't have to hide. Even though there are still a lot of hurdles for them, they still manage to devote themselves to one another. Rafe had some awesome romantic gestures in this book that had my heart singing.

Overall, this is a riveting story that really packs a punch. A rock and roll bad boy and a country sweetheart are both broken souls that find their way together and find that their two broken halves make a whole. It really is such an uplifting and heartwarming story at its core. This is a rockstar romance that you won't be able to put down. I cannot wait for Levi's book!
