Seventeen-year-old Ana is a scoundrel by nurture and an outlaw by nature. Found as a child drifting through space with a sentient android called D09, Ana was saved by a fearsome space captain and the grizzled crew she now calls family. But D09—one of the last remaining illegal Metals—has been glitching, and Ana will stop at nothing to find a way to fix him.

Ana’s desperate effort to save D09 leads her on a quest to steal the coordinates to a lost ship that could offer all the answers. But at the last moment, a spoiled Ironblood boy beats Ana to her prize. He has his own reasons for taking the coordinates, and he doesn’t care what he’ll sacrifice to keep them.

When everything goes wrong, she and the Ironblood end up as fugitives on the run. Now their entire kingdom is after them—and the coordinates—and not everyone wants them captured alive.

What they find in a lost corner of the universe will change all their lives—and unearth dangerous secrets. But when a darkness from Ana’s past returns, she must face an impossible choice: does she protect a kingdom that wants her dead or save the Metal boy she loves?

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Romantic Couples I Ship

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a different question for bloggers to ponder over.

This week's topic is a love freebie so I'm going with "Top Ten Romantic Couples I Ship". This was seriously a hard list to narrow down. There are so many romantic ships that are dear to me in the book world. Let's have a look, shall we?

1. Pretty much everyone from the Shadowhunters books by Cassandra Clare

Yeah, pretty much all of them. I have so much love for Cassandra Clare's characters. I adore Isabelle and Simon and Magnus and Alec. Clary and Jace are intense. And don't even get me started on Will/Tessa and Jem/Tessa. I will lose myself, and I just can't. OMG. I haven't started The Dark Artifices yet, but I know that those books will also destroy me. I just know that whatever happens between Emma and Julian will make my heart ache.

2. The Darkling and Alina & Mal and Alina from The Grishaverse series by Leigh Bardugo

Okay, so hear me out. I really did ship both The Darkling and Mal in this series. And for good reasons, I assure you. Those of you that have read this series cannot deny how alike The Darkling and Alina were. Even if he was sort of evil and she wasn't. Apart from that though, they were seriously perfect for each other! And as far as Mal and Alina are concerned, I did ship them as well. They were childhood friends that turned into something more. But not before Mal acts like a total asshat to the point that he probably didn't deserve her. But love can conquer any foe, and here we are. In any case, there are many fine points for each of them. I rest my case.

3. Batman and Catwoman from Batman Comics by DC Comics

I can't make a list of my favorite romantic ships and not include these two. Their love is doomed, but I can't help but want more.

4. Pretty much everyone from The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer

Yes, these characters really have my heartstrings. I love all of the romantic ships in this series, but my favorites are Cinder and Kai & Carswell and Cress.

5. Dorian and Manon & Lorcan and Elide from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

Starting to see a trend here? What can I say? I really love well-written characters and the relationships that blossom between them. In this series, my favorite ships are Dorian and Manon & Lorcan and Elide. I adore them! I also like Lysandra and Aedion as well as Aelin and Rowan.

6. Aldrik and Vhalla from the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova

Aldrik and Vhalla are so perfect together! I love the way that they come together and the way that they fight for one another. It's so very beautiful.

7. Emi and Shiro from the Red Winter Trilogy by Annette Marie

The chemistry between these two is amazing! The story is told so beautifully. There is a lot of tension and a lot of intrigue.

8. Magnus and Cleo from the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes

This is a series that I still need to finish, but Magnus and Cleo are the most amazing couple! They started out hating each other and grew to love one another. These tropes are always ones that I love reading. The personalities in this series are perfect for this trope! It's so well written.

9. Day and June from the Legend series by Marie Lu

I really loved Day and June. Their story is one that made my heart ache like no other.

10. Pretty much everyone from the Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo

Yes, all the couples in this series are swoon-worthy! I love them all!

The spirit world has been in touch with Peyton, and it’s more than she
can tolerate. Sometimes their messages are loud enough even to pierce beyond
the veil of her alcohol-induced stupors.

When she is invited to attend her best friend's brother’s wedding at The Manor
House, Peyton is compelled to stare down memories of her life before it was
decimated by fire and tragedy. Continuously topping herself up with alcohol to
keep the voices at bay, it becomes clearer and clearer that there are forces at
work in the old building…shadows darker than Peyton could have ever imagined.

The Leak of Madness is the beginning of a thrilling, fast-paced series of
horror novellas overflowing with intrigue, romance, redemption, and most
importantly…ghosts.

Will Peyton find the normal life she could have if only she stops drinking or
will the forces of evil drive her mad?

“What would the lady like?” he asked as he stood behind the bar, waving
at the bottles in their optics.
Little did he know how much each of those bottles appealed. Like a kid
choosing candy in a store, I was transported back to my first drink, stolen
from my dad's cabinet. That one had been whiskey.

Back then, I took whatever I
could get. Now I was old enough—and I might argue wise enough—to choose my own
poison.

“Do you know,” I started as I leaned over the bar, looking between the
man and the bottles. He really was a good-looking guy. “That you’re giving me
reason to give in to temptation.”

His smile widened. “Hey, if I didn't ply you with alcohol, what sort of
bar man would I be?”

I grinned as he continued to watch me. This guy still wore the label of
lad, and he was cute, but I had a couple of years on him. Still, age wasn’t
everything. “See the thing is,” I started again. “My friend doesn't like it
when I drink.”

“And is your friend your keeper?” He raised his brow.

“No, but see, that's my point. This has to be a secret.”

“Secret.” He leaned in conspiratorially and I couldn’t help but inhale
the deep scent of his aftershave.

“I like secrets.”

I’m an author in the North East of England where I live with my partner and overly-ferocious cat. I have been writing for as long as I can remember mostly in the dark genres but recently, I have expanded into other genres (such as young adult). My cupboard is stocked with an array of different and funky notebooks (because you can never have too many). My inspiration tends to come from a lot of different places but my first novel and a lot of my ideas come from my rather vivid dreams (which my partner tells me I tell him about as I’m still dreaming!)

Giveaway Details: International

10 winners

will receive an eBook of THE LEAK OF MADNESS, International.

Ends on February

13th at Midnight EST!

Can she write a world gone wrong?

A certain pen, a certain book, and a certain person can craft entirely new worlds through a branch of science called scriptology. Elsa comes from one such world that was written into creation by her mother—a noted scriptologist.

But when her home is attacked and her mother abducted, Elsa must cross into the real world and use her own scriptology gifts to find her. In an alternative 19th-century Italy, Elsa finds a secret society of pazzerellones—young people with a gift for mechanics, alchemy or scriptology—and meets Leo, a gorgeous mechanist with a smart mouth and a tragic past. She recruits the help of these fellow geniuses just as an assassin arrives on their doorstep.

In this thrilling debut, worlds collide as Elsa unveils a deep political conspiracy seeking to unlock the most dangerous weapon ever created—and only she can stop it.

MY THOUGHTS
Apart from the gorgeous cover, this sounds really awesome. Scriptology sounds so freaking cool! I love reading books set in alternative worlds. I think this one will be incredible!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a different question for bloggers to ponder over.

This week's topic is "Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read".

1. Fallen (Fallen #1) by Lauren Kate

Everyone has read this series except for me. I will get to it one of these days. Scout's honor. =P

2. The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings #1) by J.R.R. Tolkien

This is probably my most epic fail of my TBR. Am I the only one? I have started this book so many times and I never manage to get through it. I WILL read this series. I WILL. (Won't I?)

3. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

Goodreads

Another classic that I need to shave off my TBR. But it's so looooong.

4. The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon #2) by Dan Brown

Yeah, I've never read this. And I can hardly remember the movie if I'm being honest. EVERYONE has read this book. I need to be brave and leave my fantasy worlds behind for just a few days and knock this one off the TBR.

5. Tithe (Modern Faerie Tales #1) by Holly Black

This was one of the first young adult titles to grace my TBR list. It is still one that I desperately want to read. Anyone else need to read this?

6. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

I am quite ashamed that this one is on this list. I have come to the conclusion that the public school system is in a precarious state because most of the classics that I should have read in school I was never made to read. This being one of them.

7. Jurassic Park (Jurassic Park #1) by Michael Crichton

This one has been on my TBR since I was an 11-year-old in the nineties. Yeah, I'm old. And so is my TBR list. This book will bring me joy one of these days if I can get around to it.

8. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This book has been on my TBR since high school. And I graduated high school in 2001. Yeah. That long. I remember my best friend reading it and praising it over and over and I still never got around to reading it. -le sigh-

9. Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Another popular young adult paranormal book that I have yet to read. This has been here forever.

10. Interview with the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles #1) by Anne Rice

Yet another older title from my middle school days. I had all of the Anne Rice books on my shelves when I was 12, but I never picked the first one up! This is a series that I definitely have to make time for.

What are some of the books that have graced your TBR list the longest? Any of them that you are particularly razzled about? Feel free to link me to your Top Ten Tuesday post!
